In the UK, about 15% of accidents occur in the manufacturing industry, where dozens of equipment types are utilised: from modern machines to pallet trucks, manual stackers and lift platforms. As in virtually other high-developed country, the British employers are concerned about the safety of workplaces, primarily because accidents are not economically viable. In case of injury in the workplace, the prospect of a large insurance payment is almost inevitable.
