| The 7th May saw the Midlands
walk out in support of The Joshua Foundation.
Walkers came from as far and wide as North Wales,
Cheshire and Sheffield.
The Walk was arranged by Julie Nixon who is
the School Co-ordinator for the Midlands.
It took place on 7th May in the Peak District.
Everyone met at Millers Dale, Where Sarah Cornelius
gave a talk, then everyone walked on to Bakewell,
approximately 60 people took part including
Oz team members, youngsters came from North
Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire, Shrewsbury, Birmingham,
Coventry, Rugby, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham
and Sheffield and many of the youngsters were
supported by their parents who provided supervision.
The day was a great success despite the changing
weather; everyone got wet, dry, wet, muddy,
wet and finally dry again. Despite this everyone
was in good spirits and really enjoyed themselves,
there was a great team spirit amongst the youngsters
especially when it can to providing piggy backs
across the stretches of path where the river
had burst its banks!
The total amount raised on the day has not
yet been confirmed as the money was raised on
an individual bases, however most of the Oz
team seemed to raise a significant amount towards
their targets.
All in all it was a great day with lots of
new friendships made and plenty of money raised
for children with terminal cancer.
