| On Saturday 19th March,
the day of the historic Grand Slam by the Welsh
Rugby team, The Joshua Foundation launched its
own wristbands.
The message of Live42Day written on the bands
is one that TJF aims to demonstrate in everything
it does and with the children and families we
help and support, we hope to enable them to
Live42Day and “Make Every Day Count”.
The bands are Red & Silver for a number
of reasons. Firstly, to represent Life and Strength
respectively. Secondly, in recognition of the
colours worn by Gavin Henson when he plays in
the red of Wales with his famous silver boots.
The Welsh rugby team players had said that
they would wear the bands during our visit to
the stadium on March 9th and when the bands
were received on the day of the big match, on
Saturday the 19th, enough for the whole squad
were taken straight to the stadium and delivered
10 minutes before kick-off and then taken to
the players changing room just before half-time
so they could be worn after the match.
Many of the players have since been seen wearing
the bands in support of The Joshua Foundation
and the emblem of Living42Day that it stands
for. Living42Day has also become a motto associated
with the exciting style of rugby that was played
by the team during the championship and encapsulates
that feeling of adventure and complete expression
that shows how life should be embraced.
Also, in connection with the release of the
Live42Day wristbands we were very proud when
some of the top players with the Swans expressed
an interest in wearing the bands. We went to
Gilesports, Swansea to meet the team and presented
them with bands for the whole squad. The guys
were really pleased to wear them and are still
seen wearing them at all social occasions and
matches and have been photographed since receiving
them. WELL DONE the Swans - they have started
a winning streak since putting them on.
The bands were also recently given to some
members of the Welsh football team during a
visit to the stadium to watch a training session
and more activity with the footballers is planned
for August and September.
