The Cardiff Ab Fab took place on Friday 4th June at the Oval Basin in Cardiff Bay.

The event was a massive success nearly 400 ladies taking part. There were even a couple of brave men who dressed up as very strange looking women!

All of the walkers were entertained by Ceri Dupree, who did some fantastic impersonations of some of the great divas such as Dame Shirley Bassey, Cher, Tina Tuner and Ruth Madock, he then covered some modern artists such as Amy Winehouse, and Lady Gagga. The ladies absolutely loved him and he really helped to create a fantastic party atmosphere.

Dark Vader and his storm troopers also popped in to keep all of the walkers in check, they went down a storm (pardon the pun) with the walkers and they were queuing up to have their photo's taking with them.

The warm up was taken by Ruth of DW Sports in Cardiff, where the party atmosphere continued as the ladies danced the night way to YMCA and Cha Cha slide!

We then held a very special minutes silence with lit candles, to remember loved ones who we have lost to Cancer. It was a very emotional experience, but really fired the ladies up for the walk.

The first walkers were back in just over two hours; however most of the ladies took over 3hrs to complete the walk. As they staggered back to the Oval Basin, the ladies were given their well deserved glass of champagne and Bacon roll.

The charity would like to say a massive thank you to all of the ladies (and gents) that came along and took part. We would also like to thank all of the male volunteers, who helped marshal the route.

Swansea Ab Fab 2010

Over 150 ladies stayed up for most of the night, to take part in The Joshua Foundation’s second Swansea midnight walk, which took place on Saturday 19th June 2010.

The walk started and finished at the LC2 in Swansea and the ladies followed a 5 mile route up to Verdi’s on the Mumbles and then made their way back, where they were greeted with their glass of champagne and bacon roll!

Ceri Dupree also entertained the ladies before the walk and really got them in to the party mood! His impersonations of Camilla Parker-bowles, Amy Winehouse and Lady Gaga went down an absolute storm and really helped create a fun atmosphere before the walk started.

The pre walk warm up was taken by Louise from DW Llanelli, who put all of the ladies through their paces before they even started the 10 mile march up and down the mumbles!!!

The event was a massive success and the charity would like to thank all of the ladies who came and took part and we look forward to seeing you all next year!

We would also like to say a massive thank you to all of the HSBC staff who came and volunteered on the night.

We would also like to thank all of the other male volunteers who helped with marshalling; these included a couple of the Mister Wales finalists!
