June 30th, 2009 saw the first trip for this year’s Oz
Experience. The Skippy’s and the Koalas flew out of Heathrow ready and
eager to start their journey. They enjoyed the experience onboard Singapore
Airlines new Double Decker airbus and they were ready for the sights and sounds
of Singapore for their stopover.
The following day they enjoyed a sightseeing tour of Singapore before making their
onward flight to Australia. The Skippy’s flew to Melbourne for a few days before starting
their week of Conservation work with Conservation Volunteers Australia. The
Koala’s flew directly into Sydney and made their 2 hour journey by coach to
Woolongong where they spent a few days before starting their Conservation
work at the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve near Canberra.
After a long hard week the groups came together again in Sydney and accomplished
new horizons such as climbing The Sydney Harbour Bridge, tackling the waves on The
Sydney Harbour Oz Jet, seeing the sights up The Sydney Tower Restaurant, attending an
inspirational visit at The Sydney Jewish Museum and many more life changing experiences.
What a wonderful start to this year’s Oz Experience…more news and pictures
will follow soon.
