In January we were approached by Redrow Homes to find children interested in taking part in a competition to design a bedroom for their new show home opening in Swansea. Lots of children from the Oncology unit at the Children’s Hospital for Wales entered the competition and Redrow picked one winner and several runners up. The lucky winner was Kayleigh Long from Cwmbran whose lovely design full of colourful butterflies was transformed into an actual bedroom in the show home.

On a very wet Saturday in March all the winners were invited by Redrow to the official opening of the show home. Kayleigh arrived in style in a white stretch limousine and the four runners up were all treated to a ride in the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine. Kayleigh was very impressed seeing her design come to life and all winners received £50 vouchers from Toys R Us.
