The
skies were lit up in the Midlands on Friday
13th April 2007 as the Joshua Foundation’s
1st Lite the Nite in the region took place.
Oz team members from across the region came
together at the Queen and Castle Pub in the
idyllic town of Kenilworth. Early arrivals enjoyed
the fabulous menu on offer and as the participants
arrived there was plenty of opportunity for
2007 and 2008 team members to get to know each
other. This was assisted by Sarah Cornelius doing
some warm up games which saw the participants
having to play heads and tales!
As darkness fell the teams collected their
illuminated balloons from the tent and the walk
began! What a fantastic route around old Kenilworth!
2006 team members helped out with the marshalling
and even a volunteer from Warwick University.
Many of the particpants enjoyed the walk so
much they went around again!
The
evening was a great success and we would like
to thank the management of the Queen and Castle
for their support; the fabulous balloon company
that saved us having to blow them all up and
the St John’s team for making sure that
Friday 13th was a lucky day for all of us. See
you again next year Kenilworth.
