On March 17th and 18th a group of ten families from five different Oncology units throughout the UK were taken to London for a fun packed weekend.

The day began early on the Saturday morning with a high speed train journey, the taxi ride to the hotel proved exciting as they watched the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. The families were taken on a bus tour of the famous sights of London, had their pictures taken with The Queens Guards and enjoyed a scenic open top boat ride up The River Thames.

On Sunday morning after a hearty breakfast six limousines arrived outside the hotel and took some very excited children to the London Eye for a scenic flight in their own personal capsules. The weather was clear and bright and the view from the capsule was breathtaking. The limousines then escorted the families to a big party at Planet Hollywood where they were entertained with face painting and a visit from a famous guest Mr Uri Geller. The children watched in amazement as Uri performed his world famous spoon bending and even made a watch jump forward by 2 hours just by looking at it!!
