The 6th September saw The Joshua Foundation celebrate its 10th Anniversary in style at a fantastic dinner and dance at Caerphilly Castle.
The event saw friends and supporters of the charity old and new come together to mark 10 years of providing trips and
experiences for children with terminal cancer.
The evening started with guests arriving for a Bucks Fizz reception then taking to their seats and listening to
an impressive performance from The Joshua Foundation’s very own choir.
The guests tucked into a 3 course dinner which included a delicious Hog Roast for the main.
Once desert had been served, the guests were treated to a surprise performance from the London Community Gospel Choir,
followed by another performance from the TJF Choir.
David Cornelius, Joshua’s Uncle then talked to everyone about Joshua from when he was a baby up until the time that
he sadly passed away, showing photos from over the years. It was then turn for Steve James - Chairman of the Board of Trustees to talk
about what the charity has achieved over the last 10 years and what it’s aims are for the future. Lastly, but by no means least, Joshua’s
Grandparents Pat and Adrian Cornelius then gave paid a moving tribute to the children that TJF have helped over the years with some photo’s
to accompany just a few of the thousands of children that we have helped.
It was then turn for Sarah Cornelius, Chief Executive and Joshua’s mum to talk to everyone, and to present some well deserved
awards to supporters of TJF over the years which included Stenna Line Ferries, JD Consultants, Neil Kendrick and Vibe Models.
Sarah also presented a special award to her parents Pat and Adrian for ‘Ambassadors’ of TJF, and then it was turn for Sarah
to receive a surprise award for ‘Inspirational Force’ behind TJF.
The evening was rounded off with a raffle, and a disco to finish off what had been a fantastic celebration of one little boy’s
wish - Joshua’s and the 10 years on from his wish - helping to make a difference to the lives of so many children with terminal cancer
and their families.
Everyone at The Joshua Foundation would like to extend their sincerest thanks to everyone’s continued
support of the work that we do.
