On Thursday 27th March 10 families from the Oncology unit at The Children’s Hospital for Wales were treated to a daytrip to Monkey World in Dorset. The park has been featured on television in a series called Monkey Business and the families enjoyed meeting the stars of this show.

The children were entertained during the journey by watching dvds and taking part in colouring and quiz competitions. The weather stayed glorious in Dorset and families were able to enjoy lunch outside on the patio area. Various talks were held by keepers throughout the day about the orang-utans, chimps and other monkeys rescued by the Centre and these were very informative.

A huge play area and racing cars proved a huge hit with the children (and dads!) alike. A great day was had by all and the coach journey home was a lot quieter than on the way down.
