Over 250 people came along to St Fagans, on Friday 14th March, to ‘Light up the night sky’ in order to raise money for The Joshua Foundation.
Supporters young and old turned out in force to support the charity and walked the course around the magnificent grounds of St Fagans Museum.
Not even the rain could dampen the spirits of the keen walkers. Even Dark Vader’s Storm Troopers came along to join in the fun and entertained everyone while they waited for the walk to start!
Body canvas’s children’s entertainer and face painter also helped keep the children occupied with stilt walking, balloon modelling and face painting!
People also had time to make a visit to the Welsh themed shop at St Fagans and also pop into the coffee shop for some quick refreshments before the start of the walk.
A single balloon was released at the start of the walk, by Pat and Adrian, Joshua’s grandparents. The balloon was released in remembrance of Joshua and also to celebrate the second Cardiff ‘Lite the Nite event.
The event was a huge success with in excess of £7,500 being raised in sponsorship.
The Joshua Foundation would like to say a huge thank you to St Fagans for allowing us to use their fantastic facilities and we would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along and showed their support for the event.
We are now looking forward to building upon this success and are already making plans for next years event, so watch this space!!
