| The Joshua Foundation’s
2005 Lapland trip was a huge success with all
of the families having a fantastic time.
All of the families stayed at the Town and
Country Lodge in Bristol on Friday 9th December
as it was a very early start on the Saturday
morning to visit Santa!!
Our three hour flight to Lapland was filled
with Christmas spirit, as we watched Polar Express
and sang Christmas carols. There was also a
family Christmas quiz and a colouring competition
for the younger children.
On arrival in Lapland it was a chilly -8 and
so everyone was kitted out in snow suits and
then set off to find Santa Claus. Most of the
families enjoyed a Lapland safari which included
snow mobiling, Reindeer rides and was topped
off with a Lapland ceremony.
Also all of the families made a special visit
to Santa Office to put in their Christmas wish
list and then made their way to Santa’s
Post office where the elves were working at
double speed to read all the Christmas lists
and post all of Santa’s mail in time for
Christmas!!
In between all the excitement most of the families
made a pit stop at one of the Café bars
to pick up food supplies and then they were
off again to do a little Christmas shopping
and have their pictures taken in front of the
giant snowmen all of which was done in the dark
as the daylight fades at around 2:00pm.
Then it was time to say goodbye to Santa and head home,
once everyone had devoured their traditional
Christmas dinner on the plane most fell asleep
having had a very busy and exciting day. We
were then met at Bristol Airport by Sarah and
her parents who handed out treats to each of
the families.
